OSCAR KE-90, bagi para pengamat dan penggemar film, bisa jadi tak banyak memberi kejutan. Shape of Water memenangkan film terbaik, Guillermo del Toro sebagai sutradara terbaik, dan dua aktor veteran Gary Oldman dan Frances McDormand membawa pulang piala kehormatan sebagai aktor dan aktris terbaik. 

The Academy Awards atau ajang Oscar ke-90 pagi tadi (atau malam waktu setempat) digelar di Dolby Theater, Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. Dipandu untuk kali kedua oleh Jimmy Kimmel, Oscar dihelat dengan bayang-bayang skandal pelecehan seksual yang guncang industri film sepanjang tahun lalu.

Tak ingin terjebak suasana murung berkelanjutan, Kimmel sesekali melempar lelucon tentang Weinstein dan lebih menyoroti gerakan Time’s Up. Meski Oscar tahun ini suguhkan pemenang yang nyaris tanpa kejutan – karena seperti direfleksikan sejumlah festival yang mendahuluinya – kejutan tetap hadir di ajang kali ini. Kimmel yang berjanji memberi hadiah jet ski bagi pemenang dengan pidato paling singkat, memenuhi janjinya. Hadiah itu digaet Mark Bridges, perancang kostum Phantom Thread, yang di atas panggung hanya berbicara 36 detik saja!

Oscar kali ini juga mendukung gerakan Time's Up, yang bukan sekadar untuk 'melawan' para predator di Hollywood, tapi juga mendorong persamaan gender. Tiga aktris cantik korban pelecehan Harvey Weinsten: Ashley Judd, Annabella Sciorra dan Salma Hayek naik ke panggung mempresentasikan 'The New Voice'. Yang menarik, di dalam video yang ditampilkan adalah saat Geena Davis mengatakan saat film yang ia bintangi bersama Susan Sarandon, Thelma & Louise (1991) muncul, "Waktu itu (setelah Thelma & Louise edar), semua orang bilang: "Mulai sekarang kita akan melihat lebih banyak film yang dibintangi, ditulis dan bikin perempuan." Dan itu tak pernah kejadian. Barangkali sekaranglah waktunya, Time's Up."
