Harry Potter fans were delighted on Thursday night when J.K. Rowling announced that five films are now planned in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, rather than the original three that fans had previously been told. Rowling has already finished the plots for all of them and she will be the screenwriter for each one.
Warner Bros. has debuted 9 new character posters.
The announcement was made at a global event to give fans a sneak preview of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, which was held in a number of theaters in the US as well as one in London.
Funko is celebrating in style with a whole new series of POP! Vinyl figures based on the film.
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them has been produced by Warner Brothers and will be released in theaters on 18th November. Eddie Redmayne stars as Newt Scamander who searches for mysterious beasts and then documents them in his book. Fans will be aware of this book as it was one of Harry’s textbooks at Hogwarts. This film focuses on the problems that Scamander encounters when some of the magical beasts that he has captured escape in New York City.
A live Q&A was held with some of the stars of the film, including Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrell, and director of the film David Yates. Audiences were shown the first ten minutes of the film and were told what to expect from the sequel. There is no doubt though that Rowling's announcement was the most exciting part of the event for fans.
